Our lesson plans

Well- being lessons
Media and tech have a way of magnifying the stress that young people face on a daily basis.

But why is ? What can they do about it ?Support students’ well-being with a set of evidence
based lessons from our culture, designed to help them build courage, reduce anxious
thoughts, and increase mindfulness related to their habits

Positive thoughts /Habits

What if we slowed down to consider our habits, including what we do that serve us well

What we might want to change ? Here students reflect on the role that culture plays in their lives and think carefully about their own thoughts.

Objectives :

Define what habit is.Develop a personal challenge to change a habit in a way that supports
well-being.

Thinking traps

Thinking traps are unhelpful, automatic thought patterns that, when left unchecked, can lead to feelings of anxiety and depression. That good news is that just knowing about them can help to avoid negative thinking. We make students open their minds by way of conversing.

Objectives :

Learning about “thinking traps” and how they can impact us while they are studying in school.
Recognize and label common thinking traps, like mind reading and all- or-nothing thinking.

Values

In this lesson, students explore their own values and consider how today’s technologies make it
easier or harder to live out different values. They also learn about how to make choices that
align with their values and can promote a greater sense of well-being.

Objectives :

Reflection on their personal values and what’s most important to them. Consider how different values are supported and /or compromised . Learn about connections between our values, behaviours and well-being.
